HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation


This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. Guidelines state that the student must perform CPR on an adult manikin for at least 2 minutes, whilst on the floor.

This unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

Course Duration:  4 hours - Pre-course work/self paced learning + knowledge assessment

                                    activities (1 hour depending on level of pre-existing knowledge) then 3

                                    hours workshop.

Course Content:  Respond to an emergency situation

                                 

                                  Perform CPR procedures


                                  Communicate details of the incident


                                  Review the incident

Course Cost:        Contact AFT (negotiable for group bookings)

Upon successful completion of this course you will be issued with a statement of attainment for the unit.
